Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko is recovering after being involved in a "minor" car accident outside the club's Cobham training ground.

The France midfielder, 23, is understood to have just left the complex when the accident occurred around 3.30pm at Blundell Lane.

Bakayoko is understood to have received only "minor" injuries according to club sources.

Suggestions that he was involved in a head-on collision have been dismissed by the Blues.

Bakayoko's car, however, is understood to have left the road.

It is understood the midfielder, signed from Monaco for £40m during the summer, is still in line to be part of Antonio Conte's squad for this weekend's Premier League game against Stoke.

Conte is set to give an update on Bakayoko's condition in his pre-match briefing on Friday.

Bakayoko has six appearances since joining Premier League champions Chelsea. He scored his first goal for the club in the 6-0 win over Qarabag earlier this month.
