Conversations about what men like in women and vice versa have become more popular. With more people connected to the internet, we now have more access to all this information.

When we specifically talk about what men don't like, feathers are bound to be ruffled. And a big topic that constantly comes up is wigs.

More men are openly saying that they don't like wigs for a couple of reasons which can be quite hard to hear if you love to slay in your wigs. This in no way implies that you need to drop your Brazilian wig for the sake of fitting in or pleasing the opposite gender. You choose how to look at the end of the day but that too does not negate you from judgement.

The truth is some things women put on do repel the opposite sex.

To answer the question of whether men are bothered by wigs, let us break the points down by saying that many of them actually don't like them if...

  • They smell

Bad hygiene is a huge turn-off for everyone. You might look good and all, but, if you have issues like smelly breath or a smelly wig in this case, it's an instant goodbye Felicia kind of situation.

A wig should be maintained and washed often like real hair otherwise the buildup of oils, sweat, sprays and glue will cause it to stink. Men, and everyone else, in fact, don't like wigs that smell.

  • They look completely different from your hair texture

The other recurring complaint men have about women who wear weaves and wigs is that they look obviously fake. Of course, some people have a texture that's not the norm in their race but, the majority still have specific hair textures.

The issue is that these unnatural textures can make someone look like a wannabe. Many of them prefer it when women rock their own hair whether it's natural or relaxed, or, wigs that look believable.

  • They are unnaturally long

Still, on that topic of natural and unnatural wigs, men have also talked about women who wear wigs that reach all the way to their bums and sometimes knees. Again, there are people who naturally have that length of hair, but it's not the norm when it comes to certain races like Africans.

These types of wigs look clownish and fake, and many guys aren't drawn to that type of look.

Ladies, you can never convince even a blind man that the 36-inch bone straight wig with blonde highlights is your natural hair when we all know you are a strong 4C.

  • You are wearing a strange colour

Wigs allow you to have fun with different colours without having to damage your own hair. It's now become very trendy to wear bright colours like luminous blue and pink, and we see it all the time with female rappers.

This trend might work for celebrities but men often think it looks ridiculous on the average everyday woman. Many of them find it embarrassing to be seen in public with a lady in these kinds of brightly coloured wigs. So please stop it!

  • They are not installed well

Good wig installation takes some time to master. If you don't know how to do it right, the glue will lift and the baby hairs will look strange, which is exactly what men don't like.

If a good quality wig has been installed well, it is more believable to pull off. It's always better to get it installed by a professional for a more natural look.
