East Africa champions St Joseph Girls Kitale will be keen to secure a place in the semifinals of the ongoing 2025 KSSSA National Term One games at Shanzu TTC when they take on AIC Nyayo from 3.30 pm on Wednesday.

Speaking after their impressive 7-0 win over St Charles Lwanga on Tuesday, St Joseph Kitale head coach John Lusaka said their strategy is working and they are keen on making the semis with a game to spare.

"Squad rotation is key and we need to start making changes before the preliminaries. We have a huge, talented squad who can play whenever called upon.

"To be fresh for the knock out, we need to be clinical against AIC Nyayo and finish them off early. That will give us time to rest key players during the final preliminary match against Mwiki," said Lusaka.

Mary Adhiambo scored a brace in the big win after converting two short corners before Aphyline Ochieng, Ludiali Vallary, Mitchele Jeptoo, Grener Audrey and Doreen Adhiambo joined in on the fun.

Mwiki Secondary from Nairobi, on the other hand, stunned AIC Nyayo 2-0.

St Joseph leads Group A with three points and seven goals.

In boys' hockey, former champions St Anthony's Boys Kitale hammered Hospital Hill by 3-1 in their opening Group A match.

Duncan Meli bagged a brace for St Anthony's in the 10th and 14th minutes, with captain Kelvin Onyango adding a third goal in the 40th minute. Zahir Suleiman scored Hospital Hill's consolation in the 3-1 defeat.

Defending champions Musingu School, meanwhile, narrowly saw off Matiliku 1-0 while Nyanza champions Ringa Boys held St Charles Lwanga to a 0-0 draw.

Mnyeeni, on the other hand, lost 1-0 to Mpesa Academy.
