Tigoi from Western taught Rift Valley's Afraha a tough hockey lesson as National Secondary School games action entered Day Two yesterday.

Tigoi easily thrashed the hosts 6-0 in their Group B match at the Hill School Eldoret. Tigoi are facing Loreto Girls today.

St Joseph's Kitale, which had been handed a 5-0 walkover after Hillcrest from Nairobi failed to turn up for the match on Tuesday drew 2-2 with Nyamira Girls representing Nyanza in their afternoon clash yesterday afternoon.

The Kitale girls came from two goals down in the last minutes of the match to draw level (2-2).

St Joseph's captain Brenda Chepchumba said it was not easy for her side to level the score, and expressed confidence of a triumph against St Charles Lwanga today.

"We had to fight until the end because we always know that it is not over until it is over."

"I admire my girls' resilience, they played their hearts out. The girls have proven that they are going for this trophy. They believe in themselves, that is why they came from 2-0 to equalise the score," school principal Rosebella Orwaru who was on the technical bench said.

After handing St Joseph's Girls a walkover in Day One, Hillcrest Girls defeated St Charles Lwanga from Coast Region 3-0 as they sought to redeem themselves ahead of today's clash with Nyamira Girls.

Hillcrest captain Kiana Patel said her side struggled to score in the first half but gained the confidence to thrash St Charles in the second half.

"We were asleep a bit in the first half, scoring one goal before we returned to score two goals in the second half. We stayed calm. The pitch was wet and the Eldoret weather was fantastic," Patel said after the win.

Patel further said they are confident of progressing to the quarter-finals.

AIC Nyayo from the Eastern region outclassed Loreto Girls ahead of their face-off with Rift Valley's Afraha today.

Mang'u High (Central region) beat St Charles Lwanga 2-0 as hosts Kapsabet Boys of Rift Valley held Musingu from Western to a 1-1 draw.

Today, Mang'u is playing Musingu while Kapsabet Boys will be battling St Charles Lwanga.
