Schools games: Heartbreak for Nyamira Girls as St Anthony's Boys face Kamusinga in hockey finals

Nyanza Region hockey girls champions Nyamira Girls unbeaten streak at the National Secondary Schools Term Two Games in Nakuru ended on Sunday after being knocked out in the semifinals.

Rift Valley's St Mary's Taachasis narrowly saw the Siaya County giants 3-2 in post-match penalties to cruise through to the finals and an automatic ticket to the East Africa games set for Tanzania.

Taachasis will now renew their rivalry with nemesis Tranznzoia in what will be a repeat of the Rift Valley Region hockey girls finals.

In the boy's category, Western's Friends School Kamusinga who thrashed St Georges from Coast 6-1will face off with St Anthony's Boys Kitale in the finals. Kitale knocked out Chewoyet 3-1 in the other semifinal.

In volleyball, defending champions Kwanthanze Girls High School face Kesegon High School in the girls final.

At the same time, Cheptil Boys High School will face Namwela Secondary School in the boys' final on monday.
