Defending champions Butali Warriors will be seeking to consolidate their lead at the top of the Kenya Hockey Union (KHU) Men’s Premier League on Sunday when they face Wazalendo at City Park Stadium.

AT the same time, second placed and Butali’s rivals Kenya Police will be eying the top spot when they entertain Sailors.

Butali Warriors and Police are separated by appoint as the second leg of the 2022 season nears in Naiorbi.

The Warriors are unbeaten with 20 points from eight matches played. They have won six matches and drawn two.

The champions have so far defeated Sharks (3-0), Parkroad (2-0), Strathmore (2-1), USIU (1-0), Mombasa Sports Club (3-1) and Sailors (2-1). They will play fourth-placed Wazalendo at 3pm.

Second-placed Police, who have 19 points from the same number of matches, face fifth-placed Sailors in the early kick off at 1pm.

Police have defeated Wazalendo, Mombasa Sports Club, USIU, Greensharks, Parkroad and Strathmore.

Butali must win their match as a slip up will allow Police to move on top of the standings should they defeat Sailors.

In the other match, Green Sharks will battle United States International University-Africa (USIU-A).

USIU are fresh from a 3-2 win over Mombasa Sports Club and will be hoping to use the form to stop Sharks who are lingering in eighth position with seven points.

USIU are sixth with 11 points.

KHU Men’s Premier League Sunday fixtures
