Former champs Police keen to arrest Jaguars at City Park

Former Kenya Hockey Union (KHU) men’s Premier League champions Kenya Police will return to action tomorrow after a three-week break.
The law enforcers will be eager to bounce back from last month’s 1-0 loss to bitter rivals and defending champions Butali Warriors, when they take on Western Jaguars at City Park.
Police have not been at their best this season and are currently fourth on the standings, with 18 points from 11 matches.
Unlike previous seasons when they were title favourites, Police seem to have lost the battle in the first leg.
They trail unbeaten Butali by 15 points. Wazalendo and Green Sharks are also ahead of them by eight and five points respectively.
Police captain Oliver Echenje said they will be eyeing maximum points against Jaguars in their quest for a good finish.
“We have not had a very good season, but we are pushing for a good finish.
“We have already dropped 15 points from 11 outings, but we are determined to make the best out of the remaining matches so that we can secure a top-three place,” Echenje said.
They will be looking to extend their good run against Jaguars and complete a double, having beaten them 5-3 in the first leg in May. With a point separating the two sides, fifth-placed Jaguars who have two ties lined up will have a chance to move to fourth today when they clash with second-on-the-log Wazalendo.
They, however, will face an uphill task against Wazalendo who will be on a revenge mission after the 2-0 loss in the first leg in Kakamega.
Both sides go into the match on the back of victories with Wazalendo beating Sailors 4-1, whereas Jaguars edged Parklands 2-0.
In another men’s Premier League encounter, United States International University of Africa (USIU-A) will tackle bottom placed Parklands.
In the women’s Premier League title chase, relegation-stuck Kenyatta University Titans and Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) will be chasing their first wins this weekend.
Titans take on Amira Sailors today before clashing with JKUAT tomorrow.
KU Titans who earned a promotion to the Premier League will be looking to overturn the 2-1 first-round loss to Amira.
In the men’s Super League ties, Kisumu Youngsters will host Kenya College of Accountancy University, while KU Vultures will play Wazalendo Masters at City Park.
