Health Cabinet Secretary Susan Nakhumicha has termed court orders stopping three laws meant to steer the implementation of Universal Health Coverage as a minor setback.

The CS said she will use the time the case is going on to re-look at the three laws to fine-tune them and do away with grey areas.

She exuded confidence that all the Acts would be implemented.

"Once the court process is over and the laws implemented, all Kenyans will access healthcare at the health facilities without paying any coin. I wonder why someone went to court to stop that," she added.

She spoke at the Kilifi County Referral Hospital where she distributed assorted medicine and mosquito nets to flood victims and gave kits and smartphones to Community Health Promoters (CHPs).

Nakhumicha also said all counties affected by floods will get medicine to avert outbreak of water-borne diseases.

Kilifi County received medicines worth Sh5.4 million towards tackling the flood menace. More than 3,600 CHPs will administer the drugs in villages.

The CS said all CHPs will start receiving stipends this month.

Kilifi Deputy Governor Flora Chibul said the 3,600 CHPs have been enrolled by the county government.
