The final international break of the calendar year has been and gone and will now be succeeded by a congested club fixture schedule which will put Manchester United’s squad to the test.

United are set to have a busier season with most due to their European participation, late-season start date and active participation in domestic cup competitions.

It is inevitable that the club will consider freshening up their options in the January window should the opportunities arise, particularly in the defensive and right-wing positions.

There are also peripheral figures at the club who were not moved on in the summer window, and the possibility of their exits will once again arise this time round.

Here are the latest Manchester United transfer rumours for Sunday, November 22 as clubs begin to look ahead to the January transfer window.

Henderson tipped for loan exit

Dean Henderson was included in Manchester United’s first-team squad this season to add competition to David De Gea, having starred on loan at Sheffield United.

However, The Sun reports that the goalkeeper could be set for another loan exit with Leeds United and Brighton among the club’s monitoring a January move.

Henderson wants to be sure of his place in the England squad for next summer’s European Championships and may even believe he can usurp Jordan Pickford as Gareth Southgate’s number one.

For this to happen, he may believe another temporary exit is likely with De Gea still number one at Old Trafford.

Upamecano’s United hint?

Dayot Upamecano is said to be one of the most in-demand defenders in European football after rising to stardom with RB Leipzig.

The Frenchman featured for the Bundesliga side in this month’s heavy loss at Old Trafford in the Champions League and will once again pit himself against United in the return game in Leipzig next month.

The Manchester Evening News highlights how the central defender has liked a post on Instagram which was a rumour linking him with a move to United.

The 22-year-old has a £36million release clause at Leipzig which kicks in midway through 2021, the report adds.

Barcelona are making serious financial cuts across the club and the future of 18-year-old star Ansu Fati may be coming under scrutiny.

A report in Catalan media outlet Sport claims that the teenage sensation and Spain international is open to renewing his deal at the Camp Nou, but his future is in the hands of agent Jorge Mendes.

The report even claims that Mendes helped broker a deal which would have taken Fati to Manchester United this year, with that option still on the table going forwards.

The forward is currently out with a knee injury until March and his future may be one to keep an eye on among Barcelona’s continued worries on and off the pitch.

Romero set for United exit

Sergio Romero looks set to exit Manchester United next year with the club lowering their valuation for the goalkeeper from £5million to £2.5million.

That is according to a report in The Star on Sunday, as cited by ESPN .

The Argentine has been at United since 2015 but is in neither the club’s Premier League nor Champions League squad for this season.
