Real Madrid are reportedly closely monitoring the situation regarding Dortmund wonderkid Jadon Sancho and are preparing to swoop for the player next year if he does not leave this summer.

Sancho, 20, has been in stunning form in the Bundesliga again this season, and his hat-trick during the 6-1 thrashing of Paderborn on Sunday saw him net his 17th goal of the campaign.

He has also come up with 16 assists, and the likes of Manchester UnitedLiverpool and Chelsea are all said to be considering an £100m offer.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, however, a prospective move for Sancho has been thrown into doubt for the foreseeable future, and according to Spanish publication AS Madrid are prepared to wait until next summer in order to get their man.

The headline on AS's front page on Wednesday morning read: 'Watch out for Sancho', and he could well become the La Liga giant's latest big-name signing.

Their manager Zinedine Zidane is thought to be looking for another attacking option, with last summer's signing Luka Jovic proving to be a flop thus far and Eden Hazard struggling with injuries.

While Sancho is clearly enjoying his football in Germany, it is believed he would one day relish the opportunity to test his ability in either the Premier League or La Liga, and he would surely find the prospect of a move to Madrid difficult to turn down.

United still remain the most likely English side to swoop for Sancho, and their former defender Wes Brown recently talked up the possibility of a move on MUTV.

"We need someone exactly like that at the club," Brown said. "We’ve had them over the years and I’m sure if we were to sign him he would bring that excitement back to the club. It would be good for the team as well."
