Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is a happy manager after a 3-1 win (5-1 on aggregate) over AC Milan to progress to the quarter-finals in the Europa League competition on Thursday evening.

However, the Gunners top four hopes are all but gone and therefore need to win the Europa League to claim a spot in next season Champions League.

The quarter-final draws for the UEFA Champions League and Europa League set to be held today at 3pm.

Arsenal are waiting to see who they will face in the last eight of the competition, however, Arsene Wenger is wary of Atletico Madrid and deems them as the favourites to win the competition. He also hopes that his side will not be drawn against them in the quarters.

Diego Simeone’s side ravaged Lokomotiv Moscow 5-1 on Thursday evening to qualify for the quarters with 8-1 on aggregate.

‘We would certainly want to avoid Atletico Madrid,’ said Wenger as reported by METRO.

‘Maybe the team that’s the biggest favourites is Atletico Madrid but anyway what I like doesn’t matter too much because I have no influence.

‘We have to wait until tomorrow and see who we get, if we get Atletico we get Atletico.’ He added.

Arsene Wenger side set to host Stoke City at the Emirates in the next ten days in a Premier League fixture.

The other quarter-finalists are Lazio, Red Bull Salzburg, Red Bull Leipzig, CSKA Moscow, Marseille and Sporting Lisbon.
