Zlatan Ibrahimovic's time in England is over as striker's family prepare to leave Manchester home

Zlatan Ibrahimovic won't be staying at Old Trafford after deciding to leave Manchester. His departure will bring to an end an explosive one season stay in England during which time the 35 year old star scored 17 goals in the Premier League and won the EFL Cup at Wembley. The Swedish striker is still in the USA recovering from his cruciate knee operation in Pittsburgh after suffering the injury against Anderlecht recently in the Europa League quarter-finals. But Sunday People Sport understands his family are moving out of their home in the Cheshire footballer's enclave of Hale next month – even though the luxury property was rented until the start of next season. Ibrahimovic's family are understood to have already started saying goodbye to friends they've made since moving into the area seven months ago. It's a clear indication Ibrahimovic isn't staying at United with reports in Sweden also suggesting he may undergo his rehabilitation in his homeland with Malmo-based Physiotherapist Richard Dahan. Dahan, who works with the Swedish national team as well as having his own private practice for sports stars, has worked with Ibrahimovic since his early days at Malmo FF. That bond was cemented when Ibrahimovic first broke into the national side and the pair have a close personal and professional relationship. A Swedish source told PeopleSport “Working with Richard Dahan will appeal to Zlatan on many levels not least because he trusts him greatly and they go back a long way. “Dahan knows Zlatan's injury history and he knows how he ticks. In terms of Zlatan and his body no-one knows him better than Dahan.” United were prepared to offer the Swede their facilities at Carrington during his rehabilitation but the player has decided not to take up that option. It now looks like Ibrahimovic will work with his surgeon in the USA and also with Dahan to prepare for a likely end-of-career swansong in the MLS. Ibrahimovic's recovery is expected to take around nine months – ideal timing for the start of the 2018 MLS season next February. During his spell at United Ibrahimovic made a staggering 46 appearances scoring 28 goals - most notably the winner against Southamtpon in the EFL Cup Final at Wembley.
