Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang forced to attend African player of the Year award in T-shirt and jeans after airline lost his luggage

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was forced to attend the black-tie African Footballer of the Year awards in a baseball cap and T-shirt after his airline lost his luggage.

The Borussia Dortmund striker and Real Madrid target -flew to Abuja, Nigeria for the prestigious event, where eventual winner Riyad Mahrez was impeccably turned out.

The Gabon striker posted a couple of comedy pics on Instagram and revealed it was Lufthansa who had misplaced his luggage for the big day.

Alongside his post, he wrote: " That moment when you just arrive for the ceremony of african player of the year and they lost our baggage!! so that's how we dress tonight."

Aubameyang came second and Senegal and Liverpool striker Sadio Mane came third after an impressive year at Southampton and Liverpool.
