Jose Mourinho tried to keep a low profile as he left Cobham on Wednesday following his Chelsea sacking.

The Special One was axed after a disastrous start to the season at Stamford Bridge that saw the champions win just four of their opening 16 games.

Roman Abramovich decided to pull the trigger just seven months after Mourinho led the Blues to the title.

Chelsea chairman Bruce Buck informed the Portuguese manager of his fate after he had taken training in the morning.

Mourinho attempted to avoid the cameras as he departed their Surrey headquarters, concealing his face under a hoody.

Mourinho's final match in charge - the 2-1 defeat to shock league leaders Leicester City - was his side's NINTH league defeat of a dismal season.

Guus Hiddink is set to take over as Chelsea manager until the end of the season.

The 69-year-old Dutchman will return to Stamford Bridge for a second spell as interim manager.
