Dan Kiyo secured a decisive victory at the Kiambu Golf Club's Chairman's Prize, achieving an impressive aggregate score of 75 points among a competitive field of 350 golfers.
Kiyo displayed extraordinary focus and composure, skillfully navigating the nine-hole layout with precision.
The weather was ideal, with cloudy skies ensuring that all golfers completed their rounds before darkness fell. This week-long celebration featured various tournaments as Thomas Kimari's chairmanship came to a close.
Steve Kiaro demonstrated his talent by recording the lowest gross score of 151, winning the Gross Winner prize.
On Saturday, Joseph Mwai emerged victorious in the overall prize, scoring an outstanding 41 stableford points while playing off a handicap of 21.
Steve Rukwaro claimed the Men's Winner prize with a solid 38 stableford points, narrowly beating Ken Kimathi, who finished second on countback with the same score. Boniface Mureithi rounded out the top three with 37 stableford points.
Elvis Muigua also made an impact by winning the Gross prize on Saturday with a score of 75 gross points, having recently competed in the Faldo Junior Grand Final in Dubai.
In the Ladies' category, Carol Maina demonstrated her skill with a score of 34 stableford points, earning the Lady Winner prize. She edged out former Kenya number one player Wanjiru Karume, who scored 34 stableford points but lost on countback.
Davies Mukuria captured the Senior Chairman's Prize with 29 stableford points, while Captain Caesar Mugo took home the Director's Prize with a commendable score of 35 stableford points. Nancy Chege dominated the Ndumberi category with an impressive score of 39 stableford points, followed closely by MK Njuguna, who finished as the second runner-up with 33 stableford points.
In the male guest golfer's competition, Watson Njenga led the way with 32 stableford points, while Eunice Kilonzo secured the Guest Lady prize with 30 stableford points.
John Gaitho, an amateur, showcased his talent by winning the Longest Drive Men prize, while Karume confidently returned to claim the Longest Drive Lady prize.
Kevin Nzioka recorded the closest shot on the par-three ninth hole, winning the Nearest to Pin Men title, while Charity Njoroge excelled in the Ladies' category.
A standout achievement during the tournament came from Joyce Wanjiru, who recorded a remarkable single two-club performance, earning herself 66 golf balls.
"I stayed focused and dedicated countless hours to my practice sessions to improve my golf game, and it has paid off," Kiyo stated with confidence.
