The 9-hole Kisii Sports Club course will on Friday host Adventist Golfers for a charity tournament whose proceeds are in aid of Kendu Adventist Hospital in Homabay County.

Both seasoned and newbies will strut the fairways of the tough-playing course for the worthy course.

Being one of the oldest missionary hospitals in Kenya, the hospital receives patients from Homabay, Kisumu, Nyamira, Kisii, and Migori Counties

According to its Chief Executive Officer Phillip Gai, the level-four hospital has various needs for the charity golf tournament to raise fundraise and assist patients from the neighborhood in financing their medical bills.

Also, the funds shall be used for the acquisition of Nhif cards for their medication, especially for pregnant mothers and the elderly.

Thirdly, being a teaching and referral hospital, some of the students have challenges in paying for their tuition.

"We are appealing to you to support this charity golf tournament which is a worthy cause in any way. Thank you so much in advance," Gai appealed.

Golfers taking part in the tournament will have to be cautious as they navigate the challenging course, particularly the short par three, hole number three tilting slightly over 100 yards where most golfers fumble with the choice of club to hit. Worsened by the undulating greens it is hard to stop the ball.

The other is hole number two, a par four which is difficult to make it on with two because of the trees lining up the fairway. As well as, number nine where one hits a blind shot which will most likely end up at the county commissioner's office block

Back in the City, the United Kenya Club will host its members for a family golf experience at Kenya Railway Golf Club on Saturday.

The tournament is presented by Absa, City Eye Hospital, 1000 Lenses, Thrive Beauty, HPaysa and Maasai Beads.

A list of events has been lined up for those who will attend in addition to an array of fabulous prizes courtesy of the tournament organizers. With a golf training clinic for non-golfers.
