Kioni wins Ken Gen Golf Day in Nakuru

Handicap 16 Francis Kioni amassed 40 stabeford points to win the Ken Gen Golf Day at Nakuru Golf Club on Saturday.

Kioni shot 21 in the first nine and 19 in the back nine to come out as an accomplished victor, beating over 150 golfers.

"Golf is a reflection of life. Sometimes you are down and at times you succeed. Today was a successful day and with a good team, everything will go your way," Kioni said.

Besides planting seedlings, Ken Gen company donated 5000 seedlings to the club, which were received by the club chairman Mandeep Sahota and captain Matthews Maiyo.

Titus Lusaka who was beaten by a point for the top prize, was second, as in-form Mandeep Jajuha was third in 38 points.

Pancras Kuria who posted 16 in the first and 21 in the second nine for a total of 37 won the men's prize as Beatrice Bisonga won the ladies title on 35 stabeford points.

Bisonga later scooped the straightest lady's title as Simon Ndung'u snatched the men's title.

At 13 years and with a total of 35 points, Peter Gathogo tied with MS Malik to win the junior title as the latter took home the senior title.

For the second week in a row, John Kamais accumulated 34 points to emerge the gross winner as James Kimani won the guest winner title.

Felix Kirui with 38 won the sponsors title with Emma Pennington picking the Nearest to the Pin title.
