Bring Global team ready to roar at Interbank Golf Day in Muthaiga

Bring Global captain Razak Hussein is set to lead his charges in the Kenya Institute of Bankers Interbank Sports Golf Day at the par 72 Muthaiga Golf Club tomorrow.
The Nyali-based hard hitter believes his team of handicap 16 Steve Lubia, handicap 28 John Milya and handicap 27 Amani Mwadime will be a force to reckon with in the tournament.
Their digital transformation company, Bring Global, is equally sponsoring the tournament for the second time in a row to a tune of Sh3 million in cash and also in kind.
Bring Global specialises in building and providing cutting edge business and technology solutions.
Their partners, Backbase; which is also a financial technology firm based in the Netherlands, have also sunk the same amount in cash and in kind in equal measure at the Muthaiga tournament.
"Our expectation in the competition is to play well, we hope that any of us will lift the sponsors category in the expected cutthroat battle," Hussein told Standard Sports.
The quartet have been spending most of their time at Muthaiga polishing their swings and perfecting their chips and putts ahead of tomorrow's tournament.
They are expected to fight off other 250 rivals from across the country, largely drawn from the banking sector.
"Personally, I feel fair enough in terms of fitness, I always ensure I step on the course once or twice a week to play golf and keep fit," the handicap 22 player stated.
Hussein, who is also the Global Partner, Digital Payment at Bring Global, has taken part in the Interbank Games six times with his best placement in third place in 2016.
He is also part of the team who emerged winners of the prestigious Texas Scramble held at Muthaiga in 2018.
Hussein, who first embraced golf in 2014, says the Bring Global team is very excited not only to participate in the Interbank Sports as players but also as sponsors.
"Our mission is to make the competition big and fun, to be enjoyed by some of our customers who will be involved," he underlined.
Also set to run alongside the tournament is a golf clinic for beginners and a chipping competition.
"The chipping contest has already attracted 30 contestants while the clinic already has 15 participants," said Hussein.
The clinic is meant to introduce interested bankers to the game of golf. It will be conducted by the Muthaiga resident pro and other professional players from the golf club.
Lubia, who is glad that the golf showpiece will be held at his home club, is quick to remind visiting players to be wary of challenging holes and the numerous water hazards dotting the lush Muthaiga golf course.
"Apart from being the home of golf, Muthaiga is one of the toughest fairways in the country," said Lubia.
"The players should be cautious of holes 1,2,9 and 13 that have bunkers and water hazards.
"They should be prepared to handle pressure that comes with taking the balls across the dams."
Lubia, who has played golf for over a decade, says Bring Global aim is to give the participating players a memorable experience on the pitch tomorrow.
"We are actually putting on a hospitality heart to ensure our customers get the best experience in the tournament.
"As a team we are prepared to put up a good fight to ensure we post the best and most impressive bankers scores in the tournament," he highlighted.
According to Lubia, they opted to be the golf title sponsors in the games because of the persona which their digital transformation company is targeting.
