Kenya Police head coach Etienne Ndayiragije has been named the June SJAK/Betika Coach of the Month, following his historic feat of guiding the law enforcement side to their first-ever FKF Premier League title.

Ndayiragije, who was unanimously voted by the selection panel, becomes the second foreign tactician to win the award this year after South African Carlos Kyatwa, who handles Kabras Sugar RFC, racked up the coveted title in April.

For winning the award, the Burundian walked away with a customised trophy and Sh 100,000 in prize money.

Ndayiragije beat Nairobi United's Nicholas Muyoti, who clinched both the National Super League and FKF Cup, as well as volleyball coaches Geoffrey Omondi (Kenya Pipeline) and Gideon Tarus (GSU), who led their sides to national league titles to the award.

"I thank God. I am very happy. Coming from relegation to this point, it has been God," said a delighted Ndayiragije yesterday.

"Every team brought its intensity. There was no easy match. We approached every game like a final."

Betika Marketing Manager Japheth Akhulia reiterated the company's commitment to sports development.
