Harambee Starlets thrash Uganda 4-0 to maintain CECAFA unbeaten run

Harambee Starlets maintained their perfect start at the on-going CECAFA Senior Women's Championship after thrashing arch rivals Uganda Crested Cranes 4-0 at Aazam Complex in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania on Tuesday night.

The defending champions were hoping to pick their second win after their massive 5-0 win over South Sudan after having lost 1-0 to Burundi last Friday.

However, Kenya proved too strong and bagged the bragging rights from the noisy neighbors that puts them top alongside hosts Tanzania on six points.

Diana Wacera put Kenya ahead in the 18th minute before captain Dorcas Shikobe made it 2-0 eight minutes later.

Violet Nanjala then ensured the Beldine Odemba charges will go to the break with a healthy 3-0 lead after netting the third goal in the 28th minute.

Martha Emedot rounded off the win for Kenya late into the second half as Harambee Starlets won 4-0.

Kenya last Sunday got off to a perfect start when they saw off Burundi 3-0. Martha Amunyole scored a brace before Faith Mboya sealed the win.

Tanzania sit top with six points same as Kenya. However, they are ahead with a superior goal different of 10 goals. Kenya has seven goals.

Tanzania hammered Burundi 6-0, adding to their opening day 4-0 win over South Sudan.

The tournament is played in a round robin format and the team that will be at the top after the four matches will be crowned champions on Saturday.
