Vihiga Queens will face off with Kibera Soccer Women in the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Women’s Cup final.

The two sides made it to the final of the fourth edition of the tournament after winning their respective semifinals against Bungoma Queens and FKF Women’s Premier League champions Kenya Police Bullets.

Vihiga Queens, who have won the Premier League title four times, will be returning to the Cup final for the second time after their last appearance in 2023, where they lost 2-0 to defending champions Ulinzi Starlets.

Starlets who also won the title last year when they saw off Kibera Soccer Women 2-1 are out of this year’s competition after they were knocked out by Kenya Police Bullets in the quarterfinals.

Vihiga Queens made the final after seeing off Bungoma Queens 2-1 at Mumias Sports Complex in Kakamega County on Sunday.

Diana Cherono gave the hosts the lead after 11 minutes of action before the visitors restored parity at the half-hour mark for a 1-1 draw at half time.

In the final half, Noel Amutata sent Vihiga to the final with her 84th-minute strike, enough to knock out the Bungoma outfit after a 2-1 win for the hosts.

At Dandora Stadium, Kibera denied Police Bullets an opportunity to win the double after edging the two-time back-to-back Premier League champions 2-0.

Despite a barren first half, Kibera were not afraid of the Premier League champions as they took the lead through Maximilla Robbie in the 53rd minute.

Faith Mboya sealed the win for Kibera with a late penalty as they stunned favourites Police Bullets 2-0.
