Record Kenyan champions Gor Mahia will be keen to close the gap between them and leaders Tusker to within a point when they face off against relegation-fighting FC Talanta in a midweek FKF Premier League match at Dandora Stadium from 4 p.m. today.

The defending champions are currently third in the 18-team standings with 47 points, four points behind league leaders Tusker, sitting top with 51 point,s having played a game more than Gor. Kenya Police who have also played one match more than Gor, are second with 49 points.

K'Ogalo head into the match behind a disappointing 1-1 draw with Sofapaka last weekend, two vital points dropped that could have placed Gor top with a win today.

However, their 12-game unbeaten streak will be key for Go,r who have lost only once against Talanta in their seven meetings so far.

With a 6-1 head-to-head win advantage, Gor will be keen to capitalize on the current poor form of Talanta, which has seen them fight relegation for the majority of the season.

Currently occupying the relegation and promotion playoff spot, Talanta have one win in their last six matches, including two back-to-back defeats, building up to this match.

Talanta are 16th with 26 points same as Murang'a SEAL who occupy the last two spots alongside bottom-placed Nairobi City Stars who have 24 points.

A win will lift Talanta to 14th with 29 points, three points off the relegation zone.
