Defending champions Gor Mahia close the gap between them and leaders KCB to three points after narrowly seeing off Kariobangi Sharks 1-0 in a crucial FKF Premier League match played in Machakos Stadium on Sunday.

Congolese international Gedeon Bendeka scored the winning goal for K'Ogalo in the 24th minute, a goal the record Kenyan champions defended until full time as the Zico Otieno led outfit moved closer to the top spot.

Gor moved to third in the standings with 24 points, three behind joint leaders KCB and Tusker who have played a game more than K'Ogalo.

The win also saw Gor extended their dominance over Sharks who last beat them in 2021. In their last eight matches, Gor has won five and drawn three.

The defeat saw Sharks who have not won in their last three matches slip to 12th with 18 points.

Elsewhere in Machakos, Murang'a Seal made it three wins on the bounce without a goal conceded after seeing off ten-man Talanta 1-0.

The only goal of the game came via Nixon Omondi in the 71st minute, sending Seal to seventh place on the log as Talanta drop to the relegation playoff places.

Talanta, Bidco United and Posta Rangers occupy the bottom three positions as the league heads to festive season.
