The battle for the vacant KSSSA National football boys throne will continue on Wednesday in Kisii even after scenes of violence and hooliganism marred the games on Tuesday when Koderobara High School played Musingu School at Gusii Stadium.

Trailing 1-0, the match was stopped with 10 minutes left when fans invaded the field, pelting stones, fist fighting and welding clubs before police officers restored calm.

Despite the murky scenes, the knockout stages are expected to continue on Wednesday where Rift Valley champions St Joseph Boys Kitale will face off against Musingu School in a high stake semifinal match to be played at Gusii Stadium.

Musingu made the semis after finishing top of Group A with nine points after winning all their preliminary matches.

The Western Region champions saw off Machakos Boys 1-0 on the opening day of the games before seeing off Kirangari 2-1 on Monday. The chaotic 1-0 win over Koderobara sealed Musingu's top spot.

On the other hand, St Joseph made the last four after finishing second in Group B.

The Trans Nzoia County heavyweights turned around what was a tough start to the games on Sunday when they lost 1-0 to Nairobi's Highway to come out of the preliminary stages second.

Commonly referred to as the Brown Saints, St Joseph hammered Takaba from North Eastern 6-0 on Monday before thrashing Dr Aggrey High School 6-0 again to make it to the knock out stages.

Highway on the other hand finished top of Group B after their 1-0 win over Takaba on their final match. The Nairobi champs had drawn 1-1 with Dr Aggrey on Monday.
