Harambee Stars assistant coach, Ken Odhiambo, has officially announced the Kenya U23 Emerging Stars squad for the upcoming 2024 COSAFA Cup. The tournament is scheduled to take place from June 26 to July 7, in South Africa.

This event offers a crucial platform for young talents to showcase their skills on an international stage and serves as a preparatory step towards the 2027 AFCON, which will be co-hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.

The squad comprises primarily of players under the age of 23, featuring a blend of seasoned youngsters and rising stars.

Notable inclusions are Austine Odhiambo, Chrispine Erambo, Byrne Omondi, and Kaycie Odhiambo.

Additionally, the squad boasts U18 prodigies such as Aldrine Kibet, Elly Owande, Ibrahim Wanzala, and Amos Wanjala, who have been given the opportunity to compete at a higher level.

Kenya has been drawn into Group A, where they will face tough competition from Zambia, Comoros, and Zimbabwe. The Emerging Stars are set to depart for South Africa on Tuesday, June 25.

The travelling squad includes goalkeepers Byrne Omondi, Ibrahim Wanzala, and Dolph Junior; defenders Alphonce Omija, Paul Ochuoga, Sylvester Owino, Geoffrey Onyango, and Amos Wanjala; midfielders Stanley Wilson, Elly Owande, Chrispine Erambo, Aldrine Kibet, Austine Odhiambo, Patrick Otieno, John Ochieng, Kaycie Odhiambo, William Gitamu, and Rooney Onyango; and forwards Benson Omalla, Jeremy Bissau, Alfred Tanui, Hassan Beja, and Moses Shummah.
