Harambee Stars showcased a dominant performance as they thrashed hosts Malawi 4-0 in a semifinal showdown at the Bingu Stadium in Lilongwe, securing their place in the semifinal of the Four-nation tournament.

The Kenyan side, under the guidance of head coach Engin Firat, displayed exceptional skill and precision right from the onset, stunning the hosts with two early goals within the first four minutes of the match.

Michael Olunga set the tone for Kenya's impressive display, opening the scoring just one minute into the game with a well-timed tap-in from a precise cross by Daniel Anyembe.

Olunga continued his stellar performance by converting a penalty in the third minute, doubling both his and Kenya's tally.

Despite a brief resurgence from Malawi, who made a tactical substitution to bolster their attack, Kenya maintained their early lead with a solid defensive display.

The Flames struggled to capitalize on their chances, while Kenya's swift counter-attacks capitalized on the spaces left behind by the home team.

In the second half, Kenya's defensive resilience thwarted Malawi's attempts at a comeback, with goalkeeper Patrick Matasi making a crucial penalty save in the 68th minute.

Ayub Timbe extended Kenya's lead with a composed finish in the 83rd minute, before substitute John Avire sealed the emphatic victory with a stunning goal in stoppage time.

With this resounding win, Harambee Stars booked their spot in the tournament final, where they will face Zimbabwe in a highly anticipated showdown.

Kenya's impressive performance against Malawi signals their determination to improve.
