With the FKF Premier League heating up, defending champions Gor Mahia face a crucial top-of-the-table clash against Posta Rangers at Machakos Stadium today.

The league leaders, buoyant from their sterling performance this season, are sitting comfortably eight points clear at the top and will be aiming to extend their lead and tighten their grip on the title race.

Top scorer Benson Omalla's exploits in front of goal have been a significant factor in Gor's current position, and his partnership with the midfield has proven to be a nightmare for defenders across the league. Omalla has so far scored 10 goals.

Posta Rangers, their opponents, are not to be underestimated. Positioned second in the league, Rangers will be looking to close the gap on the leaders.

Their recent form has been a mix of wins and a loss, but their 1-0 victory over Ulinzi Stars in round 22 will certainly boost their confidence going into this high-stakes encounter.

The match is not just a test of Gor's title defense but also a measure of Posta Rangers' ambition. A win for the Rangers could breathe new life into the title race and set up a tantalising finish to the season.

In other fixtures today, Talanta take on Kakamega Homeboyz in what promises to be an intriguing battle. Homeboyz will be aiming to improve their form, which has seen them draw in their last match, and climb up from the ninth position they currently occupy.

At the Police Sacco Stadium, Kariobangi Sharks will host Nairobi City Stars in a mid-table clash. Sharks will be eager to improve on their draw in the previous round and potentially leapfrog their opponents in the standings.

Another highlight of the day will see Muhoroni Youth face off against Tusker. The brewers, traditionally strong contenders, find themselves back in the title mix and could use this match as a springboard to push further and close the gap on Gor.

The action continues tomorrow with KCB, desperate for points as they face off against Murang'a SEAL.

AFC Leopards will look to capitalise on their recent good form when they host Nzoia Sugar at Nyayo Stadium in a month that the club begins their 60th birthday celebrations. Shabana, hovering just above the relegation zone, will aim for a crucial win against Bandari.
