Defending champions Gor Mahia opened a 10-point gap at the top of the FKF Premier League standings after narrowly seeing off Kariobangi Sharks 1-0 at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos on Saturday.

Chris Ochieng came off the bench to strike the winner for K'Ogalo in the 91st minute, a win that saw the record champions stretch their unbeaten run to 18 games.

The win moved Gor to 40 points, 10 points ahead of Nairobi City Stars and Bandari who are joint second with 30 points.

At Bukhungu Stadium, Harambee Stars rising striker Moses Shumah missed a second-half penalty as Kakamega Homeboyz were held to a 0-0 draw by visiting Bandari.

Homeboyz forward Ambrose Sifuna was brought down in the box by Bandari defender Brian Odera resulting to the spot kick which Joseph Ochuka saved to deny Shumah and the hosts a goal that would have won the match.

The draw lifted Bandari to second while Homeboyz moved to sixth with 28 points.
