In a heartwarming pre-Christmas gesture, Muhoroni Youth FC, a formidable force in the FKF Premier League, received an unexpected boost from none other than the esteemed Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communication, and Technology (ICT), Eliud Owalo.

The generous donation of a substantial Sh500,000 token, along with a collection of high-quality kits, including 40 sleek truck suits, was presented to the team during a special meeting at the Muhoroni Stadium on Thursday.

CS Owalo expressed his commitment to supporting local sports, stating that he is delighted to contribute to Muhoroni Youth's journey towards success since he believes in the power of community clubs.

"I am resolutely committed to supporting community clubs like Muhoroni Youth in their journey towards success. Football, at its core, is a powerful unifier, and community clubs play a crucial role in nurturing talent and fostering a sense of belonging.

“This token of Sh500,000, along with the kits and truck suits, is just a small step in the larger framework of my commitment to empowering grassroots football. I believe in the potential of these clubs to not only shape the sporting landscape but also contribute positively to the communities they represent.

“My pledge is not just financial; it extends to providing the necessary resources and encouragement to help these clubs thrive. Muhoroni Youth's ambitions are our shared aspirations, and I am excited to witness their progress.

“Let this be a testament to the unwavering support that community clubs can expect. Together, we can build a foundation for success and ensure that the spirit of football resonates vibrantly within our communities,” said Owalo.

Moses Adagala, the chairman of Muhoroni Youth, graciously accepted the donation, outlining the team's season targets and expressing gratitude for the unexpected Christmas gift. Adagala emphasized the importance of such support for community clubs, acknowledging Owalo's dedication to fostering sports development.

Currently, Muhoroni Youth finds themselves in a challenging position in the FKF Premier League, jointly occupying the 14th spot with AFC Leopards, both accumulating 15 points after 16 rounds played.

The team, however, concluded the year on a positive note, going unbeaten in their last three matches with two wins and a draw, providing a promising trajectory for the upcoming season. With the backing of CS Owalo, Muhoroni Youth FC aims to soar to new heights in their pursuit of excellence.
