Defending champions Gor Mahia will be seeking to stretch their lead at the helm of the FKF Premier League to five points when they face struggling Nzoia Sugar at Raila Odinga Stadium on Saturday in Homa Bay County.

Gor are currently two points clear of second placed Posta Rangers with 27 points after 13 matches and a win against the sugar men will not only see the record Kenyan champions solidify their top spot but they will also stretch their unbeaten run to 14 matches.

K'Ogalo's current form rekindles the good old memories of the 2015 and 1976 seasons when Gor won the league unbeaten. Will the Jonathan McKinstry charges repeat the same feat in 2023-2024 season?

Gor will have to be wary of Nzoia Sugar though despite their poor form that has seen the sugar millers linger in the relegation zone for the better part of this season.

Statistically, Gor has beaten Nzoia only once in their last six meeting. The Bungoma County-based side has frustrated the champions winning twice and forcing three draws including a 2-2 draw when the sides last met in March this year.

At Police Sacco Stadium, KCB will be hoping to close the gap on leaders Gor when they host FC Talanta. The bankers are currently fourth on the leg with 23 points and they will be banking on their unbeaten head to head record against Talanta to inspire them to victory.

The two teams have met four times with KCB winning two and drawing the remaining two matches.

Other matches will see Murang'a SEAL host Ulinzi Stars at Sportspesa Arena while Nairobi City Stars play Bandari at Ruaraka Grounds.

On Sunday, Posta Rangers will play Tusker, third place Kakamega Homeboyz welcome Shabana at Bukhungu Stadium and Bidco United entertain AFC Leopards.
