Shabana Football Club have parted ways with their coach Sammy Okoth after 10 rounds into the 2023-2024 FKF Premier League season.

Having led Shabana to a momentous return to Kenya's top tier league after more than a decade out, Okoth struggled in his first ten games of the 2023-24 season, winning once, and slipping to the bottom of the table.

Their performance, with just one win since their elevation, paints a grim picture of their survival prospects in the intense and competitive league.

The departure, subsequent return and now departure of their coach, Sammy Okoth, reflected the internal turmoil within the team.

The early matches demonstrated inconsistency, with a mix of draws, losses, and a solitary victory against Tusker, which briefly sparked hope among the fans.

However, their subsequent matches, including a disheartening 4-0 loss to Ulinzi Stars and a defeat to defending champions Gor Mahia, exacerbated the growing concerns.

The recent 2-1 loss to Bandari further deepened the team's woes, emphasising their struggle both in defense and attack.

Goalkeeper coach Collins Oduor will follow Okoth through the doors.

Oscar Kambona will in the meantime serve as the interim head coach.
