AFC Leopards poor start to the 2023-2024 FKF Premier League season continued on Saturday after losing 3-2 to Nairobi City Stars in a five-goal thriller at Kasarani Stadium.

Despite roping in Czech tactician Thomas Trucha last month to try and turn around Ingwe's fortunes, Leopards ship continues to sink as they slip down into the relegation zone after 10 matches.

Vincent Owino converted a free kick home from the edge of the box to give City Stars a 1-0 halftime lead before Samuel Kapen made it 2-0 in the 55th minute.

Owino completed his brace at the hour mark as City Stars who last won a match in September led 3-0.

Brian Yakhama pulled a goal back from the spot to make it 3-1 in the 83rd minute before Kweyu Boniface made it 3-2 in the 89th minute to set up a grueling end to the match.

Simba wa Nairobi as they are commonly referred to would however hold their ground and deny Leopards a famous last minute comeback attempt.

Ingwe dropped to 16th with eight points same as Muhoroni Youth, a point above bottom placed Sofapaka who were thrashed 3-0 by FC Talanta in Machakos.

Augustine Kuta, Daston Kago and Kevin Machika scored for Talanta.

In Bungoma County, Ezekiel Osoro scored a 90th minute goal as Nzoia Sugar narrowly saw off Kariobangi Sharks 1-0 at Sudi Stadium.

The win saw Nzoia end their eight match winless run where they had lost five matches in a row and three draws.

The sugarmen also moved out of the bottom of the league to 14th with nine points.
