Nairobi City Stars registered their second win of the season after edging out Sofapaka 2-1 in an early kick-off FKF Premier League match played at Kasarani Annex on Saturday.

Kelvin Etemesi scored in the 32nd minute to give City Stars a narrow 1-0 halftime lead before Evans Maliachi restored parity in 54th minute.

Vincent Owino scored the winner in the 60th minute as City Stars bagged their second win of the 2023-2024 season.

Victory took Simba wa Nairobi to fourth on the log with eight points before other teams played.

After a poor start to the season where City Stars failed to win any of their three opening matches against Muhoroni Youth (0-0), Bidco United (1-1) and Gor Mahia (4-1 defeat), the team has picked up the pace to record two wins on the bounce.

Last weekend, City Stars saw off Nzoia Sugar 2-1 before repeating the same feat against Sofapaka.

City Stars will play Kenya Police next.
