Defending champions Gor Mahia moved top of the FKF Premier League for the first time this season after beating Nairobi City Stars 4-1 at Kasarani Stadium on Sunday.

Benson Omalla scored a first-half brace in the convincing win for K'Ogalo who are joined at the top by Posta Rangers both with seven points after three matches. Rangers hammered Sofapaka 3-1 in the early kick-off match played at Kasarani Annex.

In the City Stars game, Omalla who has already shown intent of bagging the Golden Boot award that he narrowly missed last season gave Gor the lead in the 12th minute before scoring his third goal of the season in the 30th minute to give Gor a 2-0 lead.

K'Ogalo went 3-0 up at the break after Rooney Onyango scored from an Austin Odhiambo assist.

Former Gor and Nairobi Stima forward Dennis Oalo pulled a goal back for City Stars in the final half but Austin Odhiambo would restore the champions' three-goal advantage to win 4-1.

In the first game of the day, Peter Thiong'o bagged a brace as Posta Rangers thrashed Sofapaka 3-1.

After playing out to a barren draw in the first match, Jackson Macharia gave Posta a 1-0 lead.

Off the bench, Thiong'o grabbed a quick brace in the 70th and 74th minutes to put Posta 3-0.

In the second match at Kasarani Annex, Kariobangi Sharks saw off KCB 2-1 to pick their first win of the season.

Murang'a SEAL meanwhile lost their first match of the season after going down 1-0 to FC Talanta.

Alex Juma dealt a blow to SEAL who were looking to stretch their unbeaten run to three matches after scoring the winner in the 88th minute.
