Addressing the nation, President Ruto began by commending the remarkable performance of Harambee Stars in their previous encounter against none other than the 2022 World Cup hosts, Qatar.
In an electrifying match, Kenya had emerged victorious with a thrilling scoreline of 2-1. This triumph was made possible through the remarkable efforts of the team, and the President was quick to acknowledge the players, singling out Joseph Okumu and Amos Nondi for their pivotal goals.

In his own words, President Ruto stated, "Congratulations Harambee Stars for winning against the Qatar national team last week. I am happy very many Kenyans showed up in Qatar to cheer our team. As you are aware, today at 4pm, Harambee Stars will be playing against South Sudan. I want to urge all Kenyans to show up and cheer Harambee Stars at Kasarani," he said through a video circulated by FKF President Nick Mwendwa.
The team's 2-1 victory over Qatar last week served as a statement of intent, and they are eager to build on that success as they welcome Bright Stars to the Kasarani Stadium on Tuesday at 4 pm.
