In a powerful display of patriotism and sportsmanship, President William Ruto rallied Kenyans to come out in full force and show unwavering support for the national football team, Harambee Stars, as they prepared to take on South Sudan's Bright Stars today.

The eagerly anticipated clash is scheduled to kick off at 4pm local time at the iconic Kasarani Stadium.

Addressing the nation, President Ruto began by commending the remarkable performance of Harambee Stars in their previous encounter against none other than the 2022 World Cup hosts, Qatar.

In an electrifying match, Kenya had emerged victorious with a thrilling scoreline of 2-1. This triumph was made possible through the remarkable efforts of the team, and the President was quick to acknowledge the players, singling out Joseph Okumu and Amos Nondi for their pivotal goals.

President Ruto's words rang out with pride as he recounted the sheer determination and skill displayed by the Kenyan squad in their clash against the football giants of Qatar.

He emphasized that this victory was not just a football win but also a testament to the indomitable spirit of Kenyans and their unity in celebrating their country's achievements.

Furthermore, President Ruto expressed his profound gratitude to Kenyans living in Qatar for their incredible support during the match.

Over 11,000 Kenyan expatriates had come out in force to cheer for their national team. Their passionate presence in the stadium had undoubtedly served as a source of inspiration for Harambee Stars, and it had left a deep impression on President Ruto.

In his own words, President Ruto stated, "Congratulations Harambee Stars for winning against the Qatar national team last week. I am happy very many Kenyans showed up in Qatar to cheer our team. As you are aware, today at 4pm, Harambee Stars will be playing against South Sudan. I want to urge all Kenyans to show up and cheer Harambee Stars at Kasarani," he said through a video circulated by FKF President Nick Mwendwa.

The team's 2-1 victory over Qatar last week served as a statement of intent, and they are eager to build on that success as they welcome Bright Stars to the Kasarani Stadium on Tuesday at 4 pm.

The win over Qatar was a morale booster for the Kenyan side, and it has ignited hopes of a brighter future under the guidance of head coach Engin Firat.
