St Anthony's Boys Kitale will renew rivalry with Dagoretti High School in the football boys' finals on Saturday at Bukhungu Stadium as curtains come down on the 2023 Kenya Secondary School Sports Association National Term Two games in Kakamega.

St Anthony's knocked out hosts Shanderema Secondary School 1-0 in the semifinals after influential midfielder Adrian Kibet netted the crucial goal that not only confirmed the Rift Valley champions' finals status but also saw them qualify for the East African games set for Rwanda.

Speaking after the win, St Anthony's coach Peter Mayoyo said they are ready for the final and are eager to reclaim the title they last won in 2019.

Mayoyo, who lost 1-0 to Dagoretti during their last Group B match on Wednesday said the preliminary results won't change their style of play because the final is another totally different thing.

"It's been a fruitful journey for us starting from day one and we cannot wait to crown the hard work with a national title. It will be a perfect national show for us if we seal it with a trophy.

"Nothing changes for us in the final. We just need to play better than we have played in the four matches we have played so far. The boys have to give 100 percent and we cannot make mistakes. We defend well, take our chances, and head to Rwanda," said Mayoyo.

On the other hand, Dagoretti knocked out Nyanza champions Agoro Sare High School 3-0 on post-match penalties after they played out a 1-1 draw in regular time.

Agoro and Shanderema will now have to fight for the last ticket to East Africa in the third-place playoffs today.

In football girls, defending champions Wiyeta Girls will face off with Western Region champions Butere Girls in the finals.

Wiyeta knocked out Dagoretti Mixed Secondary 3-1 on post-match penalties after playing out to a 2-2 draw while Butere edged off Kenya Women's Premier League side Madira 1-0.

Madira and Dagoretti will fight for the last ticket to Rwanda in the playoffs.
