Kakamega High School will wait longer to return to the Kenya National Secondary School games fold after being knocked out of the Kakamega County games on Saturday.

The Green Commandoes lost 5-4 in penalties to Musingu School in the semifinals after playing out to a 1-1 draw in a fully parked Bukhungu Stadium.

In a match which was attended by Sports CS Ababu Namwamba, Kakamega High failed to sparkle as they exited the games while Musingu secured their spot in the final

A tightly contested opening half where both teams displayed top defensive plays saw the game tied at 0-0 after 45 minutes.

In the final half, Green Commandoes took the lead at the hour mark to lead 1-0.

However, the lead lasted only seven minutes as Musingu School showcased their resilience and fighting spirit by responding swiftly through a masterclass free kick that levelled the scores 1-1.

With the game deadlocked at the end of regular time, the stage was set for a dramatic penalty shootout.

In the nerve-wracking shootout, Musingu School maintained their composure and converted all of their penalties with precision as Kakamega High missed one to bow out.

Musingu School will now face Shanderema, who secured their spot in the final by beating Lugusi 4-2 in the first semi-final.

In the third polace playoffs, Lugusi defeated Kakamega High 2-0.

Green Commandoes finish fourth in the county games.
