AFC Leopards will be seeking to build on the Mashemeji derby win and qualify for the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Cup finals when they renew rivalry with Kakamega Homeboyz in the semi-finals set for Nyayo Stadium today from 3pm.

With the Caf Confederation Cup slot at stake, Ingwe coach Patrick Aussems is focused on leading Leopards to play in continental matches next season after missing out on the local league title.

League leaders Tusker, Gor Mahia and Nzoia are the teams that are still fighting to win the league title. Tusker are on 64 points, Gor Mahia 63 and Nzoia 60 while Leopards are on 45 points, hence their focus on winning the FKF Cup.

At the end of the competition, the winners of the FKF Cup will not only bag Sh2million prize money but will also earn a ticket to play in Caf Confederation Cup.

The Belgian tactician while speaking to FKF Media said that their last three matches including their derby against archrivals Gor Mahia were build up matches for the semis and they are now ready for Homeboyz.

"We have been preparing for the games for three weeks now. Our matches against Ulinzi Stars and Nzoia Sugar including the Mashemeji derby were all part of preparations where we were ironing out some of our mistakes and building our offence.

"We have done everything possible to get the team ready for the big semi-final," said Aussems.
