Tusker's hopes of winning two trophies in the 2022-2023 season got a major boost on Saturday after the brewers knocked out KCB 2-0 to reach the semifinals of the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Cup.

The brewers are currently second in the FKF Premier League standings and stand a chance to retain the title with seven matches left just as they remain favourites to win the cup competition after the exit of defending champion Gor Mahia in the round of 16 stage.

Substitute Deogratious Ojok and David Odoyo each struck in the second half to guide the brewers past the bankers in the quarterfinals staged at Police Sacco Stadium.

After a barren first half, it took Tusker 23 minutes in the final half to find the back of the net.

Mike Oduor picked the ball on the right and sent Odoyo through on goal in the box. The teenage midfielder made no mistake with a scorching shot into the net to give Tusker the lead in the 68th minute.

Ojok who was introduced in the 50th minute repaid Matano's faith in the 83rd minuted when he connected well with Humphrey Mieno's cross to seal the win.

Tusker will, know wait to face the winner between Soafapaka and Ulinzi Stars match up.

The winners the cup will earn a ticket to represent Kenya in CAF Confederation Cup.

They will also win cash award of Sh2million while Sh1 million, Sh750,000 and Sh500,000 goes to second, third and fourth-placed teams respectively.
