Gor Mahia dare Kenya Police as Tusker face Nzoia Sugar

All eyes will be on defending champions Tusker and record champions Gor Mahia when the FKF Premier League enters the homestretch stretch this weekend.

With nine games left, there is still no clear favourite to win the 2022-2023 title as Gor and Tusker are only separated by one point and they are equally yet to face each other in the second leg.

However, today, the two clubs will be facing some of the top teams in the league as K'Ogalo host in-form Kenya Police while Tusker travel to play Nzoia Sugar who are yet to lose at their Sudi Stadium home ground.

Last Wednesday, Gor surrendered their lead to Tusker after the brewers edged out Wazito 2-0 in their rescheduled game to move top but head coach Jonathan McKinstry says they are undeterred by their rivals' performance.

The former Uganda Cranes head coach said they have to take their chances and defend well in all their remaining matches starting with Police at Kasarani Stadium today.

"Police are a very good side who boasts of the second top scorer with almost 20 goals with exciting players. However, we are ready for them. Pressure is part of the game and that is why people enjoy football. The mark is how you handle pressure when things are not going your way," said McKinstry.

Gor has faced Police three times, winning once, drawing once and losing once.

In Bungoma County, third-placed Nzoia Sugar who are six points off leaders Tusker have the opportunity to reduce the gap between them and the brewers when the two sides clash at Sudi Stadium.

Nzoia are unbeaten in their 10 home matches played this season (winning four and drawing six) but they would have to worry about Tusker who have not lost in their last 12 matches (won 10 and drawn two).
