Kisumu All Stars on Saturday slowed down Shabana's title push after pulling a 1-0 victory over the National Super League (NSL) leaders at Moi Stadium in Kisumu.
Willis Otenda's first half strike in the 32nd minute was enough to hand All Stars maximum points as Shabana who were reduced to ten men saw their three-match winning streak brought to an end.
Shabana captain Bernard Otieno was red carded in the 80th minute for dangerous play.
Speaking after their defeat, Shabana head coach Sammy Okoth rued missed chances.
"We played very well today but unlucky. We did not convert our chances, a misfortune for us because our opponents used their only clear chance to score. We need to be clinical in front of goal home and away going forward.
