Bandari head coach Anthony Kimani has warned his strikers to stop shooting blanks if they want the team to perform well in the FKF Premier League.

There have been cries from the dockers' fans as they continue questioning the team's performance.

The dockers were beaten 3-1 by Posta Rangers at the Mbaraki Sports Club, Mombasa on Wednesday to the displeasure of the coach and fans.

Bandari are currently in the 12th position in the league with five points, 13 behind the league leaders Tusker. The team has only managed a single win since the new season commenced with two draws and three losses.

"As a coach, I am not satisfied with the players' performance especially at the striking force. We have been creating dozens of scoring chances but fail to convert them into goals," said Kimani in a post match interview on Wednesday.

"There is pressure from the fans and we must deliver. We have been enjoying big support from our sponsors and we must prove we are up to the task."

Kimani told the players to work harder to regain their places in the team.

"In our next match against Tusker, the selection will be based on players' current form," said the tactician.

"Players must have self-confidence. We dominated the proceedings against Posta Rangers but after scoring their three goals, my players lacked self-confidence, which should not be the case in a football match. We must fight on until the final whistle." [Ernest Ndunda]
