The late Harambee Stars fan Isaac Juma was remembered with a moment of silence before the final of the 2022 edition of the Chris Oguso tournament at Mahanga Grounds, Vihiga County on December 29.

Juma, a national teams (Harambee Stars and Harambee Starlets) and AFC Leopards diehard fan, was killed on January 27 at his home in Mumias West, Kakamega County. And to honour Juma, who had also become a great supporter of the annual Oguso Cup whose 12th edition saw Kidundu United FC trounce Lakers FC 3-0 to lift the trophy, a minute of silence was held in his memory. This was the first tournament since his death last year.

Vincent Ogola bagged a brace with Michael Ake scoring the third goal to inspire Kidundu to victory and consequently pocket Sh300,000 in prize money. Lakers walked home with Sh200,000 while Sportive FC received Sh100,000 after edging out Silver Strikers 1-0 in the third place playoffs.

"This victory is a great motivation to our youthful team. We are looking forward to retaining the title in the next edition," said Kidundu captain Mohammed Said.

After scouting defender Jack Oluoch in the past tournament, Nzoia Sugar FC chairman Evans Kadenge couldn't afford to miss Thursday's finals. The match was also graced by Harambee Stars Josephat Murila, George Sunguti.

"Tournaments like this give young players a chance to showcase their talent," said Kadenge.

"For your information, it's from this tournament that I scouted our defender Jack Oluoch and a number of Premier League clubs like Police have also benefited from it. We are already in talks with a few players who impressed in this year's tournament."

Ake was named the best player of the tournament, Sportive's Benson Kamalik won the golden boot award after scoring 12 goals while Kidundu's Ian Dancan was the best goalkeeper.
