Defending champions Tusker on Sunday picked their third straight win of the season after narrowly seeing off AFC Leopards 1-0 in an FKF Premier League match played at Moi International Sports Centre (MISC) Kasarani in Nairobi.

New signing Eric Mmata scored the all-important goal after converting a penalty in the 67th minute as Tusker maintained their 100 percent record start to the season and move top of the log with nine points.

Leopards will blame themselves for failing to secure a point in the match after Nigerian import Ojo Olaniyi blasted his 82nd penalty kick over the bar lost their first game of the season.

At Ruaraka Grounds, FC Talanta worsened Nairobi City Star's poor start to the 2022-2023 season after coming from behind to hand Simba wa Nairobi their third straight defeat of the season in a 2-1 victory.

Peter Opiyo gave City Stars a 1-0 halftime lead before Likono and Castro Ogendo scored in the second half for Talanta to bag their first win of the season.

Nicholas Muyoti's charges had a tough start to the season after losing 2-0 to Bidco United before losing 4-1 to Tusker last weekend.

In Mombasa, John Mwangi scored in the 29th minute to secure KCB a 1-0 win over Bandari at Mbaraki Sports Complex.

Victory took the bankers joint second in the standings with Gor Mahia and Kakamega Homeboyz on six points.
