Kakamega Homeboyz on Saturday moved joint top alongside Tusker and Gor Mahia after narrowly seeing off Kenya Police 1-0 in a round three FKF Premier League match staged at the Ulinzi Sports Complex that hosted a double header.

New signing Moses Shumah scored in added time to lift Homeboyz to the top three on six points but with an inferior goal difference and having played a match more than Tusker and Gor.

The win sees John Baraza register his second away win of the season after a false start that saw them lose 2-1 at home to defending champions Tusker.

In the late kick off match, Ulinzi Stars registered their first win of the 2022-2023 season after seeing off Posta Rangers 1-0 at the same grounds.

The Soldiers came into the game on the back of two losses in their initial rounds in the season while Posta were looking to build on their barren draw with Sofapaka from the previous match.

Hillary Simiyu scored the all-important goal in the 36th minute to hand Benard Mwalala a breather after a difficult start to life at Ulinzi.

In Bungoma County, Leonard Kasembeli scored six minutes from full time as Nzoia Sugar also picked their maiden win of the new season after seeing off Sofapaka 1-0 at Sudi Stadium.

The two teams dropped points in their opening two rounds of the season and were looking to gather maximum points for the first time in the campaign that got underway two weeks ago.

Nzoia lost their opening encounter to Gor Mahia 1-0 before playing Bandari to a 0-0 draw in front of their home fans in the second match of the season last weekend.

Sofapaka on the other hand fell 2-1 to Bandari in the opener before laboring for a barren draw in the following game against Posta Rangers.

Saturday FKF-PL Results

Kenya Police 1-0 Kakamega Homeboyz

Nzoia Sugar 1-0 Sofapaka

Ulinzi Stars 1-0 Posta Rangers
