Record Kenyan champion Gor Mahia moved top of the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League defeating hosts Bidco United 2-1 at Thika Stadium on Saturday.

Inform striker Benson Omalla scored his second goal of the season as Gor ended their three match winless streak against the oil refineries.

Previously, Bidco have held Gor 1-1 in three consecutive matches since their second meeting in August last year. The 19-time champions have only defeated Bidco once in the four matches they have played, winning 3-1 in March last years.

Omalla who scored in Gor's season-opening 1-0 win over Nzoia Sugar last weekend found the net in the 13th minute of the match before

George 'Blackberry' Odhiambo doubled the scores 10 minutes into the second half.

The record Kenyan champions would however be denied a clean sheet in added time when Ezekiel Okare converted a controversial penalty issued in the 95 minute as the game ended 2-1 in favor of K'Ogalo.

The win takes Gor Mahia to the top of the table with six points after registering their second consecutive win of the 2022-2023 season.

Elsewhere, Nzoia Sugar drew 0-0 against Bandari at Sudi Stadium. For Bandari, the draw leaves them unbeaten after their season-opening 2-1 win over Sofapaka as they now temporarily move second on four points.

At Ruaraka, Posta Rangers who were playing their first match of the new season also held wounded Sofapaka to a 0-0 draw.

On Sunday, defending champions Tusker will be seeking to build on their season-opening 2-1 win over Kakamega Homeboyz when they play wounded Nairobi City Stars at Ruaraka.

The big match of the day will, however, pit KCB against Kakamega Homeboyz at Kasarani Annex which will host a doubleheader with Kariobangi Sharks hosting Ulinzi Stars in an early kick off match from 2pm.
