KCB Football Club on Sunday joined record champions Gor Mahia, AFC Leopards, and defending champions Tusker in registering opening season wins after narrowly seeing off 10-man Kenya Police 1-0 at the Kasarani Annex Stadium on Sunday.

Michael Oduor scored the solitary goal at the stroke of halftime as projected title contenders Police nurse early season wounds as normalcy slowly starts to return around the football corners of Kenya.

The 2022-2023 season kicked off on Saturday with Gor Mahia edging out Nzoia Sugar 1-0, AFC Leopards caging Ulinzi Stars 2-0 and Tusker bottling Kakamega Homeboyz 2-1.

At the Mbaraki Sports Club in Mombasa, Bandari came from a goal down to beat Sofapaka 2-1.
Joe Waithira opened the scoring for Sofapaka before Abdalla Hassan leveled the scores. Felix Oluoch found the winner for the Dockers deep in stoppage time.

At Nyayo Stadium, less fancied Bidco United picked three crucial points in their opening tie of the delayed season after a shocking 2-0 win over Nairobi City Stars.

David Gateri opened the scoring 24 minutes in the game before Henry Juma sealed the win ten minutes later as Bidco joined Ingwe at the top of the table with three points and a goal difference of two goals each.

The last match of the day saw Talanta hold Kariobangi Sharks to a 2-2 draw.
