Sports Cabinet Secretary, Ababu Namwamba has assured Kenyans that he is working out to see that FIFA lift the current standing football ban in the country.

Namwamba called for a collaborative and inclusive engagement with all football stakeholders, as he sought a lasting solution that abides by all the legal and statutory requirements.

"I'm ready to listen to all of you, to pursue solutions that are both legal and constitutional, towards resolving this circus that has bedeviled our footballing activities," said Namwamba.

"I want to give you my assurance that football is on its way back. Today's conversation is the first of many, between my office and all the football stakeholders. It is a big step towards securing a lasting solution to the football crisis in the Country."

On their part, the KPL leadership committed to abiding by all the rules and regulations that will see FIFA lift its ban on Kenya's footballing activities. The chairpersons signed a resolution that sets the stage for resolving the crisis.

"As you can see, we have all appended our signatures to the resolution from our engagement, which is a commitment from us as football leadership to work with the office of the CS to bring our football back," said Ambrose Rachier, the spokesperson of the delegation.

All the Chairpersons of the KPL clubs unanimously agreed through a signed resolution to petition the office of the CS to repeal the November 2021 resolution, which appointed a caretaker committee in lieu of the FKF executive committee, among other resolutions.
