Michael Olunga Football Academy: Olunga to partner with Kisumu Day High School to mentor future footballers

Harambee Stars captain Michael Olunga on Tuesday visited Nyanza Region Secondary Schools football champions Kisumu Day High School to discuss football development and education with the students.

The Qatar-based striker who runs a local sports mentorship foundation called Michael Olunga Football Academy (MOFA) discussed a partnership with Kisumu Day on sports mentorship programs.

MOFA, which is situated in Olunga's home area of Othoro, trains and nurtures talent from U10 to U18.

"Visited KISUMU DAY High School and met the school administration and had discussions of possible partnership between MOFA and their school. The discussion revolved around Education and Football. Thank you for the warm reception," posted Olunga on Facebook.

Kisumu Day sports enthusiast and hockey head coach Booker Odhiambo said Olunga wants to use Kisumu Day as the Launchpad of the next football generation.
"We discussed different matters between education and sports. We want to work with him to help to link our players to foreign clubs, admit MOFA players to Kisumu Day and many others," said Odhiambo who led Kisumu day to the nationals in both hockey and football.

On Monday, Olunga visited Wang'apala High School in his home constituency of Kabondo-Kasipul, Homabay County.

The discussion revolved around Education and Football," the Al Duhail SC forward posted on his Facebook page.
Olunga is currently in the country after the Qatari football leagues were temporarily suspended to pave way for the 2022 FIFA World Cup which starts on November 20.
