Kenya national women football team's striker Elizabeth Katungwa is a woman on a mission.

The Harambee Starlets player has continued to impress in the Indian Women football league after she was poached by moneyed Royal Rangers football club.

Katungwa guided Sethu FC to settle for the second place in the 2021/22 Indian women premier league with 30 points from 11 matches. Gokulam Kerala won the league with 33 points.
After the conclusion of the league, Rangers, which is one of the richest women football clubs in New Delhi, India and playing in the first division league, signed the Kenyan forward for a two-year contract.

The former Kwale Girls High School student scored nine goals and five assists at her debut with Sethu FC.

Mukasa Amboko, who coached Katungwa at Kwale High School, said yesterday that the player joined Royal Rangers on July 9 this year where she has a contract running until next year.

"Katungwa's expectations is to consolidate her great performance and help her new club win the Indian first division women league and qualify for the premier league next season," said the 2019 Sports Personality of the Year Awards schools coach of the year.

Katungwa was also named the 2019 Soya awards winner in schools category after guiding Kwale to double victories in girls football at both national and East Africa secondary schools finals.
On Saturday, Katungwa scored a goal and provided an assist in their 2-2 draw against Signature FC, where she was voted the most valuable player of the match.
At the same time, Amboko said several European clubs have shown interest in signing the Kenyan player.
"A number of scouts from European clubs such as Greece, Turkey and Israel are also monitoring Katungwa and she expects to impress them," he said.
